Teewinot. Why is a real estate agency on Mallorca called Teewinot? What exactly is Teewinot? What does it mean and what kind of language is it? We have heard these questions many times.
Our origin lies in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming, USA.
Teewinot is a term from the Shoshone language meaning "many pinnacles". But Teewinot is also the name of a peak in the Teton Range in the National Park of the same name in Wyoming, USA, whose impressive skyline can be seen in our header above. But what exactly does that have to do with Mallorca?
1996 was a very special year - it was the best time I had in my whole life.
Uli Bader
As a business administration student, I decided in 1996 to write my thesis on national park management and fought hard to secure an internship at an American national park—Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. The months I spent there were definitely the best time of my life.
But it's not just the impressive high mountain landscape of the Teton Range and an interesting job that have stayed with me; above all, it's the people I met there who have had a lasting impact on me. Their enthusiasm, passion, and incredible team spirit were so impressive to all of us that we are still in contact today, more than 25 years later.
Teewinot was a term that accompanied us every day, because in addition to the mountain, the park's visitor newspaper also bore this name. And since this name was so special to all of us, I decided that if I ever started a company, it would be called Teewinot.
Teewinot stands as a symbol of commitment and passion, of intensive cooperation with customers, partners, and colleagues, and of doing our job with conviction so that success for our customers and ourselves consists of "many peaks."
